What Information I Collect

I don't maintain customer databases, mailing lists, or accounts. The only personal information I hold is:

• Emails you send to me and emails I send back to you
• Text messages and WhatsApp messages between us, including any photos of furniture or materials you send me
• Contact form messages submitted through this website (your name, email, and message)
• Your phone number if you call or text me

That's it. No databases, no profiles, no marketing lists. Just conversations between you and me about your furniture.

Website analytics

I use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the website. This collects anonymised data such as pages visited, time spent on the site, approximate location (city level) and device type. It doesn't identify you personally.

This website uses the following cookies:

• _ga - Google Analytics. Used to distinguish visitors. Expires after 2 years.
• _ga_* - Google Analytics. Used to maintain session state. Expires after 2 years.

I do not use any advertising, tracking or social media cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.

How I Use Your Information

I use your information to:

• Reply to your enquiries and discuss your upholstery work
• Arrange collections, deliveries and appointments
• Send you photos of progress or finished work
• Understand how people use the website so I can improve it

I will never use your information to send you marketing emails or add you to any mailing list. I will never sell or share your personal data with anyone for marketing purposes. Your information stays between you and me.

Lawful Basis

The lawful basis for processing your data is legitimate interests - I have a legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and communicating with customers about their upholstery work. For website analytics, the lawful basis is also legitimate interests.

Who I Share Your Data With

Your data may be processed by the following third parties:

• Google - provides website analytics through GA4. Data may be processed in the US under standard contractual clauses.
• WhatsApp (Meta) - if you choose to message me via WhatsApp, your messages are processed by Meta in accordance with their own privacy policy.

I do not share your data with anyone else unless required to do so by law.

How Long I Keep Your Data

• Emails and messages: Kept for as long as needed to complete your work, then retained for up to 2 years in case you need to get back in touch about the same piece.
• WhatsApp and text messages: Kept on my phone for the same period.
• Contact form enquiries: Up to 2 years, then deleted.
• Analytics data: Retained by Google for 14 months, then automatically deleted.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data I hold about you
• Correct any inaccurate or incomplete data
• Delete your personal data (the right to be forgotten)
• Object to the processing of your data
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format

In practice, if you ask me to delete your data, it means deleting our email and message history. That's all there is.
